Established in April 2009 with members who have 3 to 5 years working experience in the filming industry as directors of photography, editors, producers, animators and writers, we in Xiphos Films aim to constantly challenge ourselves and bring filming to new heights.

Passionate and relentless in the pursuit of perfection in our art, we are always exploring various avenues of the media. This involves, but is not limited to: actively taking part in local filming competitions that test our capabilities as storytellers and visual artists.

Our members have won awards in local short film competitions such as Fly By Night and the 48 Hour Film Project, and as such have gained recognition in the local filming community.

One of the more notable accomplishments Xiphos Films has successfully achieved would be producing a mockumentary that saw two production units in Perth (Australia) and Singapore working together in a span of approximately 2 days for the recent 48 Hour Film Project 2009 (Singapore) competition.

In that endeavour, Beyond the Band: The Rise and Fall of Johnny Axel managed to clinch the Best Editing and Best Use of Dialogue awards and was one of the top 8 films in the competition held in early May 2009.

Xiphos Films is currently looking to expand into the coverage of corporate events and production of music videos for both its clientele’s personal and business or professional use.
